Wink Moving to Tacoma/Seattle with large dog

I have been reading lots and lots of threads about living in Tacoma/Seattle and other cities(such animosity between cities). I have been looking for housing anywhere in that general area. It seems that all the apartments and rentals have a 20-30 lb weight limit for pets. Are people in these areas allowed to have real pets? I don't understand how a 25lb vicious ankle biter would cause less damage than a 60lb non-violent mixed breed. I am preparing to move via internet and only one weekend visit. So I guess my question would be does anyone have advice on finding pet friendly rentals? My dog and I prefer a house or duplex type situation as opposed to an apartment. We have experienced apartment living and are willing to compromise if need be. I am trying to finish up a degree so I am also looking for something that is affordable on a massage therapist/ college student’s salary. I actually have no preference in location. I commute 1 to 1.5 hours now so driving is not a big deal.
Anything helps!!! Also….I am a massage therapist. There is a huge market for my services here in Tucson. Does anyone know if there is a market for this type of service in the Tacoma/Seattle greater area?

Tacoma is cheaper, less hectic. You might want to rent a duplex or house with yard.
I would contact some people on this link and ask questions about your job.
