Default Elem., High Schools in Cle Elum & Ellensburg?

Hi - We are beginning to look at moving to WA and are checking out the eastern area around Eleensburg. Can anyone clue me into the public and private schools in the area?
Thank you!

In Cle-elum there is a complex between Cle and Roslyn that has the schools for all grades right there. Not sure what the quality it et. al. but it would probably be like most smaller cities.

Ellensburg is a university town and is larger than Cle-elum. They have three elementary schools one jr. high and hi school. Don't know for sure, but the influence of the education department of the University may be providing assistance to the needs of these schools... not sure.

I think there are a couple of small private church schools in Ellensburg, but I don't know anything past that.

There are 3 elementary in Ellensburg: Mount Stuart, Valley View and Lincoln. You can look ratings here: http://www.greatschools.net/cgi-bin/...e&area=s&msl=1
I have some good and some bad experience with teachers in Mt.Stuart during 5 years. Lincoln has a very good teachers as well. Do not have personal experience with Valley View, but based on last ratings they are good too. In Ellensburg, you can choose any elementary you want no matter where do you live. High school is brand new- very futuristic building and a new Middle school is going to be build.

Thanks

Yes and no. Yes, because it is very rural and very nice place with its own historical traditions. You can easily afford a good new house here- there is a house construction boom now. No, because it is very rural and you do not have easy access to such things as museums or theatres. Actually, Seattle is only 100 miles away, so if you don't mind to drive...
I would say, it is good and safe for pre-teens kids, but if you have highschooler, it is much better to live on west side of the Cascades, unless your kid is rodeo and farmer stuff lover.
I should mention CWU - Central Washington University that has a big influence to our community. If you are related to CWU, you can enjoy brand new recreation center(wow!) and modern music center(2 years old) .Actually half of Ellensburg population are college students, teachers and emploees.
