Any recommended
1) short/easy and
2) medium/mild hikes
off of Hwy 2 (Steven's Pass) and Hwy 20 (No. Cascades)?

Which are day trip back-n-forth from eastside of Seattle (Kirkland)?
Which are farther out there?
Both Ok.

Are you intentionally avoiding the Mountain Loop Hwy or 530?

From Hwy 2, Wallace Falls is good and easy.

From Hwy 20: Blue Lake - Blue Lake
It's about 100 miles from I-5 once you get to Burlington.

Also from Hwy 20: Thunder Creek. This one is easy and can be easier: just turn around when you want to.
