I've lived in both Seattle and Spokane, both for multiple years, and I really like both cities. That said, there is a big difference in the weather between the two. Spokane has four true seasons, warm to hot, dry summers, warm to cool, to getting cold fall with trees changing, etc, cold winters with snow, sometimes not much, sometimes a decent amount, and a cold to cool to warm spring. The winter can be cloudy but it rains far, far less in Spokane than Seattle and is less cloudy.
Seattle has really nice summers, and sort of a long fall and a long spring without much of a real winter season (in terms of tempature, and it rarely snows). It rains more and is more cloudy.
If you prefer a more temparate climate and don't mind the rain, you'll likely prefer Seattle. If you prefer four seasons and a drier climate, you'll likely prefer Spokane.

Sure...lots of people post on this forum without really knowing what they're talking about. That's how I understood this post.

I was being a little maybe a lot cynical - People want to move up here and the first question they say is where is the most sun? If you want a guarantee of sun go to San Diego or Yuma otherwise understand that it is GREEN here because it rains. - Then they want to locate in the country and the first thing they say is What no sidewalks? - Oh look the neighbors have smelly cows! - If you want a big city or a city over 30,000 I say why!! Our city has about 7,000 I have five acres plenty of shopping withing 10 - 30 minutes drive. One hour to ocean - one hour to snow - One hour or so to the BIG city. - $2000 per month rent is a lot and unless you are in Seattle or Everett you can find many many places for a lot less. So you can't get the governors place for just $2000 I don't want it anyway!
So tough guy is my little rub understandable?

I found earls response quite easy to understand and his second response quite funny. I don't care about cost of living at all. I care about beautiful scenery, low crime and sun at least 3/4 of the time...oh...and clean air and water. I think your state has everything except the sun 3/4 of the time. But it sure is totally gorgeous in Washingston State.

Well you are such a pathetic snob....
Many people in Seattle serve in the military and look in Seattle itself there is a small post..
Just South is McChord and Lewis and if they were to close, Seattle would be affected too. Basically the whole region..
There are some depressed areas outside of any base or post but not the whole region...
Ahhh and towns like that are comprised of all type of people and many of them the most hardworking, decent and patriotic people of this country...
I just can believe this fellow..

Humidity?
I think the level of humidity in Washington is great. This is from someone who lives in Texas where 5 months of the year we are 90+; and over 100 many days. The humidity for the most part is also in the high 90s, so the level that I experienced in July was wonderful!
