Smile job market in washington

i posted a thread on here before and it got deleted so i'll try again and see how this goes. I'm currently a college student out here in iowa. i have 2 years max left of school. I'm majoring in History ed and minoring in political science and anthropology. I've researched the area and haven't been able to find what i'm looking for so i'm hoping u guys can help. I'm wondering what type of job market is available for someone like me who is majoring in what i am. I know High School History Teacher isn't a high demand job in this country but it's what i like and what i wanna do. I would also love to coach cross country, basketball, and track. any information you guys can give me would be welcome

Default Can You Add An Adittional Minor??

hEY CAN YOU ADD AN ADDITIONAL MINOR??

MAybe math , Spanish or special ed?? What about seeking an endorsement as a counselor? It will definetely make you more marketable.

That would open more doors.
Check with the school districts around. I suggest you write directly to them and find out what the demand is like for you proposed field...

I am a counselor and I am currently finishing a second masters in school administration(k-12). I intend on getting an additional certification as a school psychologist.. It is worth the time to try to acquire additional certifications. We inquired around in Washington and there are many school districts that are growing and thus there are many opportunities. Make yourself more markatable...

Please get more information at www.wateach.com It is a free service and you can find out about recruitment fairs, positions available and requirements for certification in WA.

Good luck with your career and move to WA!

With your background I would check out government jobs - they often are looking for people to work elections and honestly don't know what else they have available. You may want to email: careers@seattle.gov (that is if you want to live in seattle - the website is Seattle.gov - the official site of the City of Seattle - Home Page , but every major city has its own website - just google the name of the city and put gov after it - and all have employment opportunities. Just send an inquiry letting them know you are looking to relocte and what your educational background is - maybe they can point you in the right direction.
