Default Most inexpensive coastal homes? Where?

What places on the washington coast have the most reasonably priced housing?

Are there any areas with historic older homes?

Hi,

It depends on what your notion of affordable is. As a rule, coastal property comes at a premium, so anything that's affordable compared to your average WA property usually is located in profoundly poor areas.

Places like Aberdeen, WA have the blessing of oceanfront but are pretty grim places socially. But if you're looking to live out in the boonies and have a place that's just good for grocery runs, you could find something affordable most likely.

If you're looking for historic, the place to be is Port Townsend. It's a real sendback to the Victorian era. But living there isn't affordable if you want to live in one of the quaint old homes.

Aberdeen is neither grim nor oceanfront. It was a depressed area in the 80's and 90's, but is now quite refurbished and charming. Aberdeen also has some of the nicest victorian homes in all of WA. Some very low income areas are run down, but every city has "that part of town". Port Townsend was in the same predicament as Aberdeen 10 years ago.

If I could pick any economical waterfront areas on the WA coast to live, Grayland, Tokeland, Long Island (Ocean Park, Long Beach etc.) and Pacific Beach would be on my short list. For economic waterfront with victorian homes, Aberdeen, Raymond, South Bend and Westport. If money was no object, Port Townsend, WA and Astoria, OR are tops.
