I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one. There is NOTHING there. The mainstay stores are: Ross, Burlington Coat Factory, and Target. I think there's even a Payless Shoe store too... Surrounding the mall are: ToysRUs, Old Navy, Staples, etc...

If you don't think "mall" but think "quick place to stop in and complete my errands with no tax", no problem. You'll be so dissapointed if you make the journey for a good mall.

No, you're right. I wouldn't recommend a special trip to this shopping center (it's not even a "mall," really).

But when we go to Portland (Veronika - that's where it is), we sometimes pick up things at the Home Depot or Circuit City there, on the way back.

University Village is nice. It's sort of swanky. But it's also an outdoor mall.

Bellevue Square - though Southcenter is undergoing a major expansion and may end up matching Bellevue Square when all is said and done (we'll have to wait and see).

Have you seen what is being done at Southcenter?

Bellevue Square IS terrific, but the new addition to Southcenter is pretty substantial and when the changes are complete iit will be the largest mall in the area (roughly 25% larger than Bellevue Square) with 70-100 new stores, a 3-story atrium featuring 90 foot glass walls looking out at Mt Rainer, two new parking garages, and a 16 screen movie theatre.

It is indeed remarkable what they are doing there, at Southcenter. The atrium will be interesting to see. Bellevue Square will be more upscale, I'm sure, but Southcenter's 1.7 million square feet will put it at the top of all malls in the Pacific NW, in terms of size.

Now if only Southcenter would get an Auntie Anne's.
