Your right....western Washington is pretty drab and non-descript.
Because the majority of the population lives on the evergreen part of the state.

I created a table with the climate data for Seattle for the last 3 years and it looks pretty nice and relatively sunny. Especially 2015 only had 151 cloudy days.
