We're actually looking to move somewhere cheaper. I find it curious you'd move here to save money, unless you were coming from some major metro area.

Really the only major metro areas where Seattle would offer a big savings are A.) NYC B.)!San Francisco and C.) Elon Musk's mars colony

Yeah, that sounds about right.
I guess we've lived here so long, we just assumed it was like this all over. When we started researching, it opened our eyes to how expensive it is here.

Expensive here OH YEAH.

Strip Club entrance in Tuscon AZ- 5 dollars Seattle- 20 dollars
Lap Dance in Tuscon- 10 dollars Seattle-30 Dollars

You can see where I am going with this.

Only cheap thing in Seattle are the numerous Asian food stores and taco stands.
Just prepared to go mentally insane during the dark winter months where you stare at your bicycle or motorsport ride with a I am sorry for not using you look.

The only people that love this region are people with old money that have homes prices double or triple or more within the past decade. Its in the 60s where I am at, all 4 seasons, all 4 with the sun. The Pac NW is among the most overrated areas in the States.

No, not really. Those are weird examples to give, for a couple looking to relocate. I live in the SW, too, and movie tickets and other entertainment options cost close to the same. Groceries are cheaper in Seattle. The main thing causing the high COL in Seattle is rent/real estate. Electricity is cheaper in Seattle. (It's still the cheapest in the entire US, AFAIK.) So, whatever. I guess it depends on your, um... "priorities".

Oh, and yeah--Western Washington will have water when AZ and NM are nothing more than shriveled dust bowls. Good luck with that.

I don't know, I always find groceries and restaurant prices quite a bit lower in LA than Seattle on average, gas is only slightly less in Seattle these days, movies and such are a wash. You are right utilities cost less in Seattle, however, most everyone I know (me included) uses WAY more juice to heat and light the house in Seattle because it's so dark, wet, and cold most of the year.

we are from the city of saint louis, but its less about saving money and more about saving sanity! We are giving ourselves a lot of wiggle room as far as moving. we may just stick to idaho or surrounding. im not sure yet.
