Default Moving to Port Angeles with boat?

We're moving to Port Angeles from the east coast this summer. We have a 25 foot center console boat. How is the boating around the Olympic Peninsula? Are the seas rough? Can you take your own boat easily to Victoria or the San Juan islands? We're trying to decide if we should sell it before we go!

If it's a good, reliable boat then bring it! You're in for some of the greatest boating anywhere. I've fished all along there in 18-21 foot boats and they were fine. There are also good lakes and rivers all over the area and your boat is great for most of them, too. I have a 25' boat that has 4 trips to Alaska under it's belt and will probably do another this summer. Crossing the Straits of Juan De Fuca to the inside passage (between Vancouver Island and the mainland) can be rough, especially outside of boating season, so you have to plan it right, but I've run between Port Angeles and Victoria a bunch of times in my previous boat, a 21' Owens, once right before Christmas. You also have to plan your trips according to tidal flow in some areas, like deception pass at Whidbey Island. Then there's the San Juan Islands with all kinds of State Parks and interesting places! My friend has a Bayliner Trophy that sounds similar to yours and runs all through them, to Vancouver and Victoria B.C, up and down the Columbia River (trailers it down to Longview and puts in there) and so on. Got to have a passport nowdays though (or the new WA State Driver's license that meets Homeland Security requirements) to get back in the U.S. from Canada.
