Jack Johnson is coming in August and I really want to go. My kids love his music, they will be 3 and almost 6 by the time of the concert.

I've never been there, so I don't know what it's like.

Is it safe for kids? Appropriate?

We just planned on getting general admission tickets and sitting in the grass on the hill and listening to music. Is that not likely to be possible?

I've been there a couple times (Pearl Jam & Dave Matthews) with the wife and I wouldn't think there'd be a problem per se, other than the fact that in August it could be well over 100 degrees there (when we saw PJ there in July 2006 it was 106)- not a good situation for anyone, let alone small kids who could be very uncomfortable, especially on the lawn where there's very limited (if any) shade..

Go to this site and ask around.. There's folks on there that have been to the Gorge many, many times and they'd be in better shape to answer that question.. And here's the official Gorge website, they might have some answers for you too..
