The liberals of the older days are gone. What we have now are the Liberal/Socialists more commonly known as *******s in the public eye. If that's what's up in the Seattle metro I'll be sure to stay far from it.

Known as what? In what public eye? Are you aware that liberals, socialists, Greens, etc. are a significant segment of the public? What Socialists? Do you mean The Bern-ers? Flinging around terms really is not conducive to discussion. We need to know what the terms you're flinging around mean. ...to you, at least, so we can discuss.

I don't agree that the liberals of the older days are gone (at least I know what you mean, there). They're still here, but they're Boomers, mostly, and some kids of Boomers, now in middle age. They're definitely still around, though. But they don't make headlines too often, so people who rely on superficial impressions and the day's headlines (to say nothing of dubious internet "sources") for their view of life, would form a distorted impression of the polity.

I'm not sure how that could be, though, considering how "tolerant" liberals are...
I know of no such anecdotal reports, but knowing human nature, there probably have been a few incidents. The same thing happens when Greenies or hippies or Berners who wear their beliefs on their bumpers drive through some highly conservative areas, too. At the very least, they'll be made to feel unwelcome. That's life. So what?

Toleration need not extend to intolerance. If that is what you are complaining about, check your ass-umptions. See the Google engineer who just got himself fired...

If you are talking about Washington state - I think you just made that up. A large number of liberal hippies have lived synergistically with the conservatives in North Central and North East Washington for 30-or-so years - they are tolerated just fine. Not like the intolerant, "me-too" liberals in Seattle.

That is exactly right, so explain that to the "progressive liberals".

I ass-ume nothing, take your snark someplace else.

The Google engineer suffers from mysogyny, that is his shortcoming, not mine. I happen to love women, been married to one for nearing 27 years.

No, I was speaking more broadly, nationally.

Since the store owner is now a criminal, according to some on the thread whoever wants to can just shoot him down too. "KILL HIM!!!" as one poster suggested doing to criminals.
