Question regarding apartments in Tacoma
Good evening everyone, I am hoping some of you might be abe to shed some local light for me on an apartment complex I have found.
The name of it is Commencement Terrace and it is located on St Helen's in Tacoma.
Does anyone have any idea how these places are?
How is the surrounding neighborhood?
Thank you all for your help, and if this area is not good, where might I be better suited?

I beg you dont go there!
Please you should stay away from tacoma I lived there for 6 months its a dump the people are mean its just not fun you should mive any were in washington state except tacoma it has good views but here are some things you should know...
1.Its kinda like a redneck town
2.When Mt.Rainer erupts the lahar is heading straight for tacoma.
3.If you have a problem with people making bad color choices dont go there
every house is hot pink, turquoise, bright yellow, violet,or some other horrid color that a house shouldn't have.
4.Downtown is nice but the rest is scummy
5.We people in seattle and everywhere else in western washington will make you the butt of our jokes.
I'm not a snob infact i'm from oklahoma but tacoma is a bad city.

Yikes
Those are some pretty strong feelings against the place..
So many people are down on Tacoma..I am here in Oklahoma City now and I hate it with a passion. I feel almost anything would be better!

Can't comment on the building specifically or the area without a map in front of me (too lazy right now, sorry!).
Shiranui,
1. Tacoma is quite chic in many areas. Check out the Proctor District, Walk along Ruston, have dinner at Indochine, drive around University Place. Some areas may be a bit "red neck (as you say)," but low-income families have to live somewhere!
2. When/ IF Rainier were to erupt just about all of Western WA will be covered in mud. But, if you live in the mid-west you deal with Twisters. In the south you get Hurricanes. Take your pick.
3. Don't say ALL or EVERY, it just makes you look ignorant. Yes, some people do make poor decisions and paint their houses ugly colors. Again, you'll find this all over.
4. Downtown is nice. That's 1/5...
5. No, Seattleites and W.WA residents do not all make Tacoma the butt of their jokes. Tacoma is a respectable city in it's own rights.
Where do you get your info? Open your eyes and look at the beauty around you. Please don't attack Tacoma just because someone wanted to know about a specific building. That's ridiculous!

Every person has different experiences and feelings about a place. Take every reply with a grain of salt.
Let's try to stay on topic.

Tacoma is a fine place to live, but I wouldn't pick Commencement Terrace as a first pick. Too close to downtown for me, so noise and busyness would be an issue.
There are some nice apts. on North Pearl, and also on Mildred, but I can't remember their names.
I'd tend to stay central or north Tacoma, but you may need to be closer to downtown for work or transit reasons?
