Hi: I am a single parent with 2 kids and 2 dogs who will be relocating from Abq to the Seattle area in June. I was hoping that someone could recommend a nice, quiet, dog friendly, apartment community relatively close to the water (love the ocean). I have done some research on Gig Harbor and it seems like it could be what im looking for, but it would be great for other perspectives. Either a 2 or 3 bedroom, not to exceed 1100 per month, and withing walking distance to the water. I appreciate any input..have a wonderful day.

Hi rainyday! Welcome!
The most important thing you need to consider is where your WORK will be. Traffic, including roads and ferries, can be very difficult during commuter hours, depending on location and the distance you have to travel.

So first, where will you work? The closer you can live near where you work, the more time you will have to play with your kids, dogs and home.

You might want to tweak your priorities: 3BR at no more than $1100/mo within walking distance to the water, and I'm sure you also want a location where your children and dogs will be SAFE and you'll have good schools -- wow! if you can find that, I want to buy it! :-) If you take away being "close to the water", which is usually very expensive, you might find the other points.

Have you looked on:

I don't think you will find what you want for $1100/month. Indoor dogs will also be a hard sell with most landlords. They will likely want a hefty damage/cleaning deposit and have little patience with "accidents".

Not meaning to be harsh, just realistic.

There are several homes for rent in the Gig Harbor area for under $1100 per month. Hit and miss with dogs. Most apts. won't allow dogs at all. If you're working in Seattle, Gig Harbor may be a bit too far of a drive for you.
