Default How do you pronounce this? Puyallup (Moved from Seattle forum)

Our realtor sent us some listings from this town and I don't have a clue how to even pronouce it-is it- Poo- or PEW-? either way it sounds just Horrible- I don't think i could even get address labels made up or tell anyone I lived there-I'd be too embarrassed. Could someone spell it phonetically please?

Moved to correct forum.

I pronounce it Pewyall-up. Somehow throw that w & y sound together. Thats how I heard it from a local once. Of course not sure if that local was a native or a transplant.

I actually feel sympathetic, I wouldn't want to live in a place that has such a mispronouncable (is that a word?) name. For example, I would never live in Issaquah, because I hate the name.
