If money/distance to job were of absolutely no concern to you, which waterfront community would you choose to live in and why? I've read about Gig Harbor, Bainbridge Island, and Edmonds and they sound beautiful. Tell me more about these and lots of other places. Thank you so much!!

Clyde Hill if I wanted the wealthy life, divine resale value and the Blue Angels every summer; La Push if I were a member of the Quileute Nation and wanted divine peacefulness and migrating murrelets.

Gig Harbor is the place for me. Warm water inlets perfect for waterskiing, great easy access for boating to Olympia, Seattle, San Juans. Views of Mt Rainier are unbeatable. Endless choice of condos, old waterfront cottages, and remarkable waterfront estates.

Gig Harbor,
Pretty, growing like wildfire, and be sure to bring "BIG BUCKS" At least they got a new bridge finally but plan to pay the toll. I almost purchased a waterfront lot to build on a few years back. Wish I had gone thru with the deal now. Oh Well. I found another nice place instead. The Edmonds community in north Seattle is quite nice as well if you can get a place near the Ferry terminal. Have some friends that just sold their place a block away right on the water. Bought a New Condo in the same area and put the large profit in the bank. There are some New upscaled Codo units for sale there now. They overlook the Marina and ferry landing. Beautiful Puget Sound and Olympic mountain view. Silverfox |

A small place like Boston Harbor, north of Olympia. It's a quaint community with gorgeous Puget Sound waterfront and stunning views of the Olympics.

Gig Harbor,,,, Great community, small town feel with big town amenities. (home depot, costco, target, borders, new theatre, etc..) Surrounded by water, great boating, hiking, great schools. Midway between Seattle & Olympia. 150 miles from Portland....

Beautiful area and just minutes from the State Capital... strategically located about midway between Portland and Seattle.

For me it is the Steamboat Island peninsula in Olympia, the western exposure side on Totten Inlet. Still quiet, relatively undiscovered, protected from intense development, easy access to Olympia (no stop lights all the way in) and highways to Mason and Grays Harbor Counties.
Some sites can see all the way to the Capital building in downtown Olympia. |
