I will ask another question: If wearing a mask is effective why the social distancing requirement?

Mask is not 100% effective.
Neither is Social Distancing,
Neither is hand washing...

(Nor will a vaccine be 100% effective, should we find one...)

We are dealing with probabilities. (Reducing risk)

Duke study on different masks...

Very controversial 'Rapid Test' idea...(Worked great for many countries) Dealing with probabilities..., no it is not 100%, so you only get the benefit of 95% (that is significant in a pandemic)

I think that masks, distancing and hand washing are helpful.
What I think would have really helped would have been a quick testing program available to ALL and not just the Hollywood and sports celebrities.

Currently you have to be pretty darn sick to get tested in the Bay Area and then if you are only kinda sick you have to wait 3 -4 day for an appointment and 10 or so days To get the results.

Would be pretty effective to do it almost any other way than this no testing policy for the general pubic.

Oh and yeah I hate wearing the mask but I do in public because I think it is the right thing to do and not because I am told to.

"To be clear, Sweden’s economy is wide open. No one is social distancing or wearing a ridiculous mask. Life is back to normal, and the infection rate is still falling. It’s pretty safe to say the population in Sweden has now built some level of immunity to the virus, and all signs indeed point to the pandemic being over in Sweden.

What is the obvious takeaway from this? Perhaps Dr. Rushworth sums it up best, saying that he is “willing to bet that the countries that have shut down completely will see rates spike when they open up. If that is the case, then there won’t have been any point in shutting down in the first place.”

What is the obvious takeaway from this?

That 2000 families still in mourning is considered "normal" for you. Those folks would still be alive, if they were in Ohio.

Same population, 2000 fewer deaths.

Your manipulative shaming tactic is a FAIL.

You can't be so sure about this. Different people, different underlying conditions.

This is a perfect example of misleading the public.

I heard about the quick-tests on the radio in early May. The guy (Robert Epstein, being interviewed by Michael Medved) said they were just a couple weeks away from being available. If they had become available, more people would be at work, kids could go to school, people could visit vulnerable family members, we could have kept the virus out of nursing homes, . . .

Then I didn't hear or see anything else about them until last week. I read that some governors (not ours) have ordered millions of them for their states.

I wish that developing and distributing those 15-minute spit-tests had been made a priority.

(Even MLB players have to wait a couple days for test results.)
