Hi everyone,
My son is being recruited to play soccer at Walla Walla CC... we’ve been researching, and one concern that stands out is the high crime rate. I’ve been on many sites and forums and every one shows Walla Walla with extremely high crime, especially property crimes.
Since I am retired, we were considering moving to help him get set up etc. Is it really as bad as the ratings show? It looks like a beautiful small town.

I don't know a whole lot specifically about WW, but if he's a guy and an athlete I'm sure he'll be fine. College is its own little bubble. Often a lot of crime in one city may just be confined to a single neighborhood. Random crime of course happens, but violent crime esp usually happens to those known by the criminal. Walla Walla is a beautiful town and the wineries are top notch.

My daughter went to Whitman College and graduated in 2017. There are sections you want to stay out of…Hispanic gang activity which seemed strange to me in such a small city but lots of great places to live there too. I love Walla Walla.

Mexican and central American gangs are throughout all the farming areas of eastern Washington.

Just accept it as a positive benefit of diversity and illegal immigration. The parents were illegal and great people. their kids are Americans, by birth, and not so good.
