I agree with boybrady that Olympia would be a great fit. Just check out their downtown for all your choices to eat. Plus we have a great Farmers market over looking the Sound and local farmers that allow you to pay than pick. There is a strong community feeling in Olympia,wa.

Default Vegan/Vegetarians

Mount Vernon has a wonderful Co-Op store and deli. Tons of choices, always 2 soups available, one is always veggie/vegan. Hot food to go also. Also, The Chuckwagon, a longtime, cowboy-themed Mount Vernon restaurant (think the old fashion drive-in place but you can sit comfortable inside and look at the cowboy stuff) has a black bean burger that you can't miss along with a broccoli burger, and a potato burger - and it's clean but funky, fun lunch place to boot. Bellingham is a great town to eat in "cruelty free". Downtown Burlington has the Burlington Cafe, several yummy veggie choices. This area has a large population of Seven Day Adventists, which are usually non-meaters. Between those folks and the college in Bellingham, most restaurants in this area have several worthwhile non-meat choices. Chow On!

Default Interesting restaurants

So Olympia has this restaurants, the Saigon Rendez-Vouz. I know there is also another in Seattle that is similar that have good vegetarian and vegan fake meat meals. It is interesting ordering Mongolian Beef and having it be a convincing, fake meal.

I also love the Organic Soup restaurant, with at least 1 Vegan option, usually 2.

The 2 co-ops (possibly a 3rd on the way for downtown) in a town of 40K with a real downtown is pretty awesome.

I have been to 2 Thai places on 4th that both have vegan menus.

The Indian place on 4th also serves vegan Indian.

The Blue Heron on the Westside is an organic bakery with great sandwiches, etc. It has vegan options.

The fishbowl Brewery makes organic beer and has both (limited) vegan and veggie options.

OTHER PLACES WITH VEGGIE/VEGAN FOOD I HAVEN'T BEEN BUT HEAR GOOD THINGS ABOUT:

Urban Onion - supposedly great
LeVouyer - Hear the service sucks but the food is good
Darby's Cafe - good early day food
New Moon Cafe - weird hours, great food
Traditions Cafe- everything right in the hippie world fair trade store and good food.
Vic's Pizza - Vegan friendly. Pizza. Good. That simple.
The Burrito Cart on Harrison - Great from what I hear - always see a line

SUPPOSED VEGGIE PLACES I HAVE NEVER BEEN OR HEARD OF
Trinacria
Quality Burrito
Otto's
Little Saigon
Mini Saigon
