Today was one of those epic days on the Columbia River when the beauty blows you away. Spring colors illuminated by the warming sun, snow in the hills, explosive looking cumulus clouds, deep blue sky, warming water temps and sheet glass makes you want to jump in and paddle. And no one out but me, the eagles and the baby birds flying all around as I paddle. I wonder if those little birds are a spring thing?

We had some of those puffy white clouds yesterday too… I snapped a couple pictures while out driving around and arriving back home to our eagle trees.

Mostly drizzly today!

Lightning, thunder, hail an hour ago. Rain shadow said "not today".

I'm seeing posts like that from friends around the state.... right here it's been pretty quiet and almost normal slow drizzle, if a little cool still.

In Vancouver it's been mostly a mix and sun and clouds today. There was a brief period some dark clouds rolled over and little rain fell. Then, it was gone. Maybe more later. It is Spring, so, anything could happen.

I'm not home so I didn't know this happened, but a neighbor just told me we had 1 1/2 inches of snow on Tuesday. In APRIL!

What gives? I heard it was a day of snow, rain, hail, and sleet. I don't know if there was thunder or lightning.

I'm on the Tahuya peninsula.

We have lots of trees on our property and as you drive our road you can see a good half dozen that have been hit by lightning over the years.
I leave them there undisturbed because they kinda look cool and as a reminder not to mess around in lightning weather.
If you’re near the bottom of a tree when it gets struck you are in the wrong spot.
You have a lot of spindly trees on your property, Andy. It looks overgrown. You should thin those for fire safety. Especially since the area seems somewhat lighting-prone.

The wife and I went clamming at Long Beach yesterday afternoon and just came back.
It was sleeting and raining on us pretty good west of Sheldon yesterday afternoon.
There was snow on the ground in that area.

We were out of our hotel at 5:30 am and it was 31 degrees in downtown Long Beach.
Visited some fiends for a bit and were done clamming by 9:00.
Warmed up to a nice mid 40’s for us and we even had to remove our jackets.

Very thankful that we didn’t get rain during our beach adventure .

Today the weather was a bit chilly low 40’s and a few sprinkles on the ride home.
My daughter lives on the far side of Sequim and had a hail storm today.
Wifey said there was heavy hail build up looking like snow for a few miles west of us.
