I believe I am related to the founder of the city. Any info you can provide would be appreciated. Gene Everson

I used to live in Everson in the 80's. Not much to say, blink and you've been through Everson. It's a farming community. Last I heard, the first time home buyers from Bellingham were buying out in Everson and commuting the 35 minute drive into town. Far as I know, it's still pretty rural out there.

I am from Everson. I believe it was founded by a family, as there are some "Eversons" out there, but I am not sure who actually founded it. It was originally the Nooksack Indian Tribe's. Nooksack is right by it....not sure. I know they have a website though, or check the Whatcom County website or Whatcome County Museum. They are usually good for history....

This is off the City of Everson Home Page:
"Named for the Norwegian born homesteader, Ever Iverson. The City of Everson is now the home for just over two thousand residents. The city is surrounded by rich agricultural soils, snow covered peaks, and is only thirty minutes from both Bellingham, WA and Canada. Mayor Jaleen Pratt and all of the staff at City Hall would like to welcome you to The City of Everson's Home Page." Hope that helps... |

Everson still remains a VERY small, farming town. I live not too far from there and I was just through there a couple weeks ago.
Not much to say. Tiny town.....agriculturally-oriented and a bit larger Hispanic population nowadays......migrant farm workers, etc. |
