Default Question About ELBE Washington

Hi,

Is anyone familiar with Elbe Washington? It's on the drive to Mt. Rainier, I believe, from Seatac. Is the town itself IN the mountains? I was hoping to drive by there in a few weeks to photograph an abandoned train but don't want to be driving up in the mountains. I looked on a topographical map but had a hard time figuring it out. Anyone familiar with the area? Thanks guys!

Elbe is not a drive up the mountain. Elevation is around 1200 feet. The Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad has one end in Elbe. The area is pretty and worth the drive. You can do it in a weak engined sedan.
