Not sure of the locale you mentioned in your blog, but overall Port Orchard is a nice place to raise a family.....raised mine there and I was a kid there...like everywhere else, population explosion in Kitsap County, but nothing like it's neighbors of King, Pierce or Thurston counties.... You should have a good living experience in Port Orchard....It has all the major stores, and the nearest Mall is in Silverdale ....or ofcourse you can make a drive over the Narrows Bridge to the Tacoma Mall....
If you are concerned about crime, go to the Port Orchard, Wa web page and search for statistics on crime by year....should give you a good report...
