Default Suggestions for places to live around Everett??

Hello all,

I am moving to Washington from AZ , just graduated. I hear its really pretty out there. I am going to be working for Boeing in Everett. As much as i did like to live in Everett as well, I hear all sorts of bad things about it- Rape, Car thefts, sucky mall, gangster activities, drug dealing, not really much to do for a youngin etc etc and so i wish to live in a place with not very long commute to Boeing but still in a safe and accepting neighborhood with lots of things to do but not too noisy and possibly not very far from the beach. A place with lots of small independent shops, pretty and scenic and not very high cost of living. I realize that such a perfect place could maybe only exist in my head but if anyone has any suggestions for a decent place to live with one or more criteria s being met please feel free to suggest.

Thanks!!

Parts of Everett are perfectly safe and have nice views, but other nearby towns where you might consider are Mukilteo and Edmonds.

Is the commute from Mukilteo and or Edmonds to Everett crazy? Are there often delays on the highway. I will be working first shift. Also what parts of Everett are safe and nice place to hang out.

Thanks for your suggestion

Boeing is right on the edge of Mukilteo, so your commute would be 10 minutes or less. Edmonds is a bit further, your commute would be 20 to 35 minutes. If Mukilteo and Edmonds are out of your price range, you could look into Lynnwood or Silver Lake. The commute would be 10 to 25 minutes. Mill Creek is another nice area, but the commute can get ugly.

I'm familar with and like the Boulevard Bluffs neighborhood in Evevrett, and I hear nice things about Silver Lake...I don't the trip from Mukilteo would be bad at all, Edmonds more iffy, depending on the time of day. Here's something about Everett neighborhoods. I know that former Senator Henry Jackson's home is in a very nice part of Everett, i just don't remember where.

Pinehurst-Beverly Park Neighborhood in Everett, WA

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I think Mukilteo from my research thus far seems like a nice place. Can you guys tell me a little more about it. I am looking to rent a 1BR or a 2BR apartment. So some nice apartments to look at? What type of outdoor activities do people normally take part in? Is there lots to do in this town for a youngin?

Wow, if you work for Boeing, there are many places you can live. I have tons of friends who work for Boeing and below are the cities most of them live.

Mukilteo
South Everett
Mill Creek,
Lynnwood.

All these cities have easy access to Boeing. One one thing about Boeing is that they might send you to Boeing Renton from times to times for special assignments. If that is the posibility, make sure you live where you have easy access to I-5 or 405.

I have a friend who now live in Lynnwood and have to commute from Lynnwood to Renton to work. (ouch)

ehhh. Does Boeing at least compensate for the travel from Lynnwood to Renton? It only seems logical that they do that.

This hardly ever happens. Renton has the 737, and there are very few reasons to go over there if you are working in Everett. In the ten years my husband worked there, he was never sent to Renton.

Default Arlington

Arlington and surrounding area is a real nice town and not far from boeing! Are you looking to buy or rent?
