Mount Vernon Washington
For anyone who is interested in moving to Washington, check out Mount Vernon Washington which is a small farm twon about 100 miles north of Seattle. The town is small now but was written up as one of the top cities for price appreciation and retirement living. The city is very Dutchy (is that a word) with lots of farms.
Mount Vernon is infamous with tulips farming and they even have an annual tulip festival every year called the Skagit County Tulips Festinal. The tulips fields there are beautiful beyond words and during the spring when they are in full bloom, it seems like the whole town is covered in tulips.
Tulips does not have a lot of high tech industry but it is expected to grow in the coming years are development move north. It is also just a few ninutes from the San Juan Islands and the other islands.
Here are some cool pics and videos on the Tulip Festival and the Tulip Fields.
