Default The gorge info please

Hey everyone,

Im trying to get a vacation planned for my wife and I at the Gorge this summer. We've been trying to get to the DMB show there for years...Anyway, do most people stay and camp for several days there, or only for the night they have the tickets? I'm just not sure how it works..Any info/experience you have would be apprecaited. thanks!!

Hi. If I were planning your adventure, I'd go to TripAdvisor.com first. Real reports from real travelers. Here's the page for George, WA:
George Tourism - George Vacation Reviews - George Vacations - TripAdvisor
In the left column are the links you'll need for your research.
The page for the Ampitheater, which will contain info in travelers' reviews:
The Gorge Amphitheatre - George - Reviews of The Gorge Amphitheatre - TripAdvisor

And really helpful from WA state:
The Official Site of Washington State Tourism: The City of George

Have fun!

If it were me, I'd combine my Gorge visit with a short jaunt to Soap Lake, maybe a 40 minute drive from the Gorge, and soak in the healing waters. There are also inexpensive places to stay there like the Notaras Lodge. It's a bizarre little town with healing mineral water.

We go to the Gorge almost every year and we will be there for DMB this year as well, we usually camp after the show but not at the Gorge campground anymore. There are a few different campgrounds with in driving distance that are a lot more pleasant. If you were to stay at the Gorge campground I would definately only stay for the night of the concert and move on to better places to stay.
