We live in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area and are considering a move to the Poulsbo/Bainbridge Island area. Any comments or suggestions?

Hi. My in laws live in Poulsbo. I can honestly say, because I'm also from California but now live here in Washington state, that Poulsbo gets more rain and snow than most surrounding areas. Poulsbo is a quaint little town with outlying strip malls. It has that small town feeling. Down town Poulsbo consist of one street with shops, a famous bakery and pharmacy. My husband could not wait to graduate and move away from there. The Pennisula has its beauty. You'd have to drive to nearby Silverdale to buy anything brand name, or simply have a selections of activites to do. If your rasing a family, be prepared for your children to move away after graduation.

The biggest issue is getting to Seattle. A ferry ride of about a hour is what it usually takes. So if you work in the seattle area, it will be quite a commute.
