Here's some annual weather info for Mount Vernon:
Weatherbase: Historical Weather for Mount Vernon, Washington, United States of America=
Mount Vernon is lovely, rural, quiet, calm. The only "BAD" area of Mount Vernon, for me, would be right up against I-5, as I wouldn't care to listen to the semis rolling through the rain...
There are Skagit Valley Hospital, Mount Vernon Hospital, Island Hospital in Anacortes. You can Google your question or those resources to get details. Have you checked City-Data.com? There's a gaggle of statistical info, and photos.
We have tons of info here on C-D about Mount Vernon. Here is the link for the Search I just did, pulling up threads and posts:

hi.. how hot is it durring the summer months?
I have checked what "the normal" averages are soppose to be..
but just like anywhere else, the normal average never seems to
go along with what is really is.. lol!
What about storms? really bad weather? power outages?
sunny days compared to cloudy days, which is more?
Is AC something you can't do without?
On average, is electric heating cheaper than natural gas?
Is city water expensive?
We are in central Indiana for the moment.. water bill is about
30 bucks a month.
Does anyone know anything about the adult 55 + and older mobile
home parks located in Mount Vernon? I have done some research..
but can't find any info on what they typically charge for space rents.
We can find some very nice mobiles for sale, but no info on space
rents and what if anything it includes? The senior 55 + parks seem
like a good option for us because we may only spend 6 months a year
there.. not sure if wintering there will do for us,, trying to stay away from
the cold.. lol.
Any info would be very helpful.. Thanks!

Weather: The normal averages are a good gauge. Every year is a bit different from every other year because the planet is a living thing. Add or subtract 5 degrees on any day. The National Weather Service might offer day by day details.
Storms: What kind? -- rainstorms? Almost never, but if so, they last for 5 or 10 minutes and are almost never "downpours". Western Washington gets lots and lots of mist, drizzle and mizzle during the winter months.
"Really bad weather?" That means different things to different people.
Power outages might occur in November, our windiest and stormiest month. If overhead power lines feed your home, that can happen, but it doesn't happen every year, or more than one or two times a year, or for more than a few hours to a day or so, depending on the situation. Everyone has a fireplace for that reason.
Western Washington generally has more cloudy days than sunny per year, according to weather statistics. However, western Washington has lots and lots of days that are partly sunny with clouds.
AC: In western Washington, you might want air conditioning for about 5 to 10 non-consecutive days in the summer, if you have no fans, no windows to open, or no upper floor. Strong onshore (from the Pacific Ocean) breezes from sundown through the night are very cool, even when the day has been hot.
Electric heating vs. natural gas heating: Natural gas is probably less expensive, but it's not available in a lot of locations.
Water: In the Pacific Northwest water is plentiful, high quality, and not expensive.
I Googled mount vernon wa mobile home parks -- and several possibilities came up. You might want to look into that. You might want to contact some of the results directly, and ask them your questions.

We lived in Mount Vernon for 20 years and couldn't wait to move out to Camano Island. It changed a lot in that time. It has grown considerably, especially in the Hispanic population. I worked at the high school and it was almost half Hispanic with a lot of gangs. We had many problems with gangs there. We had many male hispanic students who drove BMW's (everyone assumed they were drug dealers) while the teachers drove Subaru's or less. There was a good sized prostitution ring in the high school as well (white and hispanic girls). I even had male hispanic students coming on to me a lot (if they think you are attractive, they will go for you). It is considered prestigious for them to marry a white girl. There are a lot of white girls dating hispanics who do not plan on going to college. We had our children go to non-resident school districts from middle school on.
If you do not have children, you will still need to consider the cultural aspect. I have many wonderful hispanic friends and am not biased. I AM biased against gangs and drug dealing. It is not as bad once you get away from the schools.
There is also a lot of traffic congestion in Mount Vernon but then that is common for most towns these days. The Mount Vernon area is beautiful and there are a lot of homes sitting on the market (can get a good price).
The weather is mild. Lots of rain but sunny days during the summer. Does not get "hot" with highest temperatures up to 90 degrees on a few days of the summer (if you are lucky). Usually not much snow if any. Had snow last year. Some of Skagit County floods (do not want to move into the flood plain) from the Skagit River every couple years (happens more often now since they no longer drudge the river).
They do have a bus system and there are some nicer neighborhoods. You'll want to check out the neighborhood schools as some may not be where you'll want to raise your kids. Most are okay.
Natural gas is less expensive than electricity unless it is a heat pump. Air conditioning in homes is not necessary. Propane is extremely expensive. Hope that helps a little.

Thanks for the heads-up!
The only thing we have seen so far is the growing number of hispanics in the Mount Vernon area... and once you get hispanic gangbangers in a town, all they do is multiply.
It's too bad, because from what we have seen.. Mount Vernon looks like a nice place.
We did just come across a news-video, showing the illegals demostrating in a march...
it started in Burlington and ended up in Mount Vernon. I find it appalling that people who
are not even U.S. citizens are allowed to roam in our streets and protest.. watching that
video was a huge turn-off from ever buying a home there.
How is life different on Camano Island VS Mount Vernon? Where do you do your grocery
shopping? What about other shopping and eating out? Thanks!

Camano Island is wonderful. It is mostly middle and upper class people. Lots of millionaires (living in mansions on the water). We are middle class and love it. We are moving to Colville, WA only because my husband got the job of his dreams there. There is no crime here and a large portion of the population is older (great place to retire). We had planned to retire in our home because it is a large rambler on 5 private acres (and now it's for sale). Most homes are on acreage except for homes located in Camaloch (development by the golf course) or on the water. Camaloch is mostly older people. The older people on the island are active and get together for activities. I see them playing tennis at the local park and golfing. They ride their golf carts from their homes in Camaloch to the golf course. Very nice people. Everyone is nice.
There is no diversity on the island and low ethnicity in Stanwood (more in Stanwood than the island). You cross a bridge to get to the island. When driving on the island you can usually see water. It is gorgeous.
There is a good-sized grocery store, True Value Hardware, hair salon, mail and copy store, kitchen store, and video rental store right by the golf course (only 3 miles from our house). Gas station there too and full-sized bank. It has been so nice to drive to and from the bank in 10 minutes. There's also a very nice restaurant a couple of miles from us. They get a lot of business because their food is so good. People come from Stanwood to eat their huge breakfasts for $2.99.
Another good thing if you are considering moving to this area is you could get a really good deal on a house. Because the housing market is so slow, people are practically giving them away. If you go to a site like remax.com and do a search for Camano Island, WA in your price range, you'll see what I mean.
Also, no gangs in the high school or anything like that. The entire Stanwood-Camano area is pretty religious (Camano more than Stanwood) and every type of denomination is represented here. There's some good churches on Camano. Our kids went to a great preschool at Camano Chapel. Scandinavian people set the foundation for the community.
Good luck and if you have any more questions, let me know mod cut: email addy.
