Need help, moving to Sequim Soon!!
My family and I are moving to Sequim (relocation of Job) Husband two young kids and myself. Have been looking at buying, but hard to make such a commitment when I really don't know the area?? I am also kinda picky about the house we live in and have only found very few that would work (layout, yard etc....) does anyone know of a good place to rent for a few months to get to know the area or a good area to buy with kids? I'm looking for at least 3 plus bedrooms a yard and newer or at least in great condition, if possible?? Also any info on Schools and preschools would be helpful too :>) thanks!

There are only 2 grade schools there and they both are great! Sequim School District Mine went to Grey Wolf and my nephew went to Helen Haller. My niece went to a preschool at one of the churches by the high school. Great place to live!! Bummed to leave after making friends, but you have to do what you have to do!

One good thing to do: get over to the Makah Museum in Neah Bay. Great place full of artifacts from a tribe that remains on its ancestral land. Just be careful in any time of heavy rains because a mudslide could keep you in NB for awhile.

Just to let others know that may be reading the posting about rentals in Sequim. We have two great vacation rentals on our lavender farm that are also available for long term rental as soon as December 2008. Both of these rentals are fully furnished, includes all utilities and are reasonably priced. We are listed on VRBO at the following link: [url=http://www.vrbo.com/105453]Sequim Lodging - House and on our website at: [url=http://www.cedarbrooklavender.com/vacationrental.cfm]Cedarbrook Herb Farm - Lavender Farm - Vacation Rental. Please contact us for more details and rental pricing.

Shellbelou, so how is it going in Sequim? Always thought about moving up there. Do you have any gems to share about life around town, shopping, kids etc?

I have to wholeheartedly agree here, the museum is amazing. The Makah had a undeserved-bad-reputation (heavy media bias) for several years because of the whaling drama. My wife and I go to Neah Bay at least once a year and have found the locals to be friendly and the view from the point is breathtaking. I felt like a lot of tourists were missing the museum and gift shops while going to and from the point. It is a terrible mistake imo. Do check the weather first, as the road is narrow and about 10 feet from the sea at some points. It is fine on dry weather though.
