My husband and I really like that area over there
, We have considered Colville and Kettle Falls area also, Although maybe a little too far North
for us and the weather cycles are important,
as i have Arthritis.
4 real seasons will be nice. right now we are in Southwestern wa.
and hate the weather
. It is gloomy all the time. What would be really nice with the weather is that the storm comes in and dumps what it is going to dump then the whole thing leaves and the sun comes out afterwards
. Does that fit into Newport in anyway?
Is there anyone out there that can & wants to tell me everything about their town.
We have checked out Ritzville, Pomeroy, Dayton, Clarkston, walla walla, etc.
We decided that we like a little more greenary around us.
We don't like spokane area,
it is getting way too big for us. we like the small town feel. We don't want to live right in town, we would like to put a mobile home on a couple acres close to the edge of town.
Any help about your town would be greatly appreciated. We are very close to retirement
, Although very young still,
We are quiet people, We ride motorcycles (street). And love to garden.

I'll be going to the Newport, WA area next month for a family reunion. My parents bought a 22 acre place about 7-8 years ago and have been happy there. I've yet to visit their place as former reunions took place down in our hometown in Oregon up until my grandmother passed away 5 years ago.
My mom has asked me to consider moving out to her place for a year or two .. mainly b/c she's pushing 70 and would like to spend time with me and simply to have me around for a bit.
It's not an area I envision myself settling only b/c I prefer warmer climes and living near the ocean
Nevertheless, I'll see for myself next month what the area is like. And if I should choose to move out there temporarily, I wonder if any local residents, who live in the country and have to use satellite to receive TV signals, have any experience with also using said satelitte services for broadband internet connections?
I've long used cable but obviously, given how rural it is in that area, cable will not be an option. And dial up is not something I could adjust to since I do my business from home online.
Also, I'm an avid kayaker ... I realize the season for such a sport would be rather limited to most likely, approx May through early October .. but I wonder if anyone who is also into kayaking (or canoeing) can share some experiences? I understand there are numerous lakes to choose from out there.

The Pend Oreille River flows through Newport, it's actually the divider between Newport and Oldtown ID. Just into ID you've got Priest Lake, and Sandpoint and Lake Pend Oreille are just a short drive away.
If kayaking is your thing, you'll have plenty of options in that area.

Satellite services in Newport
Hello to all!!! I live in Newport Wa. and I have loads of information about satellite services for internet.
We use Hughesnet broadband. It is a good satellite company as well as we are installers for this company. I live so rural I do not think you can get anymore rural than we are LOL

I LOVE
this area moved away once for 9 months and found myself longing to come HOME so we did.
Never could be happier. As far as the seasons go here yes there are 4 of them and I think that the fall season and winter are my favorite beautiful!!!
However for kayaking that is only good through mid september as the nights start to get cold (for me anyway) and then the water is brrrr cold
So as I said any questions I would be glad to answer them
