Info needed on Sequim Adult Manufactured Home Communities
We are very interested in finding out more about nice adult manufactured home communities in the Sequim, WA area. Does anyone live near there or in one, that can give us advice. We are retired and live in an adult community now in FL but thinking of making a change. Due to prices it seems a manufactured home will be what we need to purchase even though we live in a one story condo now. Of course we would be leaving hurricanes but what about earth quakes in the Sequim area?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi Mary,
We live in Sequim and there are quite a few manufactured home parks here but not to may upper end ones. There is only one new 55+ park ready to start in a couple of months. Area is growing fast.
Do some research on Earthquakes before you make a descission to come here.
The Cascadia subcontinental situation could be a disaster if if happens and it is DUE. It could effect the whole West Coast from Canada to California.
The Olympic Pennisula is in the HOT ZONE. Just a question of When???
Don't mean to scare you but most people that live up here don't really know anything about the situation, or just ignore it.

Hi Mary,
Sorry it took so long to reply. The new Park has.nt been officially named yet as the are still aways out before starting. It will be a slightly upscaled park with reasonable sized lots. My understanding is it will be done in two stages.
Leased land, not ownership, which is quite common up here. Usually a long term lease of 20 -25 years with renewl rights.
As for the earthquakes, yes you feel them, depending on how large and where they originate etc.
Here is one website you can do some research on if you like.
www.earthquake.usgs.gov/reasearch/products-data/48-states/index.php (broken link)
Click on...
Maps...
Earthquake probability maps...
use zipe code 98382
Let me know if you need more info or help.
