Default Great Earthquake threat

The Pacific Geoscience Center in Vancouver is apparently putting Vancouver and southwestern British Columbia on alert for a possible great earthquake in the next week. An article has just appeared on the front page of the Toronto Globe & Mail website which outlines the Pacific Geoscience Center warning.
The article states that rumblings began under Puget Sound last week and have moved up to Vancouver Island. "The tremors occurred on what is known as the Cascadia subduction zone, which lies beneath the Pacific Ocean off the West Coast and runs from Vancouver Island to Northern California. The rumblings began last week near Puget Sound near Seattle and made their way north to Vancouver Island in recent days."
Has anyone heard of any possibly predicted earthquake along the Juan De Fuca earthquake subduction zone in the media in the last couple of days?

I thought they couldn't accurately predict earth quakes, and that was why everyone lived in fear of "the big one"??

Sounds fishy to me - got a URL?

While the probability of a quake is still low, rapid strides in earthquake detection have given federal scientists with the Pacific Geoscience Centre on Vancouver Island greater confidence in their ability to predict when and where one will occur. Garry Rogers, a seismologist at the centre, compared the current earthquake odds to the dangers of driving a car.
“Everyone drives their car every day, and the probability of getting in a car accident is small,” Dr. Rogers said. But during rush hour, the probability of getting into an accident is much higher. “Well, Vancouver Island is now driving in rush hour.”
Doesn't sound like a "Great" Earthquake "Threat" to me...

Yeah, they're always trying to predict earthquakes around the PNW but when the "big one" comes, don't worry, it'll catch almost everybody off guard.
