Anybody move from Oregon/Washington and Miss it badly?
I don't know why I cannot seem to be happy anywhere esle but this beautiful Pac NW, but I left a year and a half ago, and I have missed it very much and I am determined to come back.

The Final Countdown Begins: 90 days to GO!!!!
I feel and have lived your regret. It's hard to admit to such a fruitile mistake as leaving the Pac NW, but many have done it and like you and I are trying to get back. Moving out of the PAC NW 8 years ago we had high hopes and dreams of finding a place in the sun, don't take it the wrong way though Florida has been very good to us. Florida has given us many friends and job opportunities that we may or may not of gotten on the West Coast. We have never really felt at home, not like the way you feel in the PAC NW, you know the feeling? It's fall, the fog just lays over the tops of the tree's its been drizzling off and on, you can smell fresh coffee brewing so you grab a cup and the paper and head to the front porch. Its the lifestlye that makes it right. Its the slower pace, the people and the view oh how I miss the views.
We have come to the end of the road here, we are bound by our future to return to the Pacific we love. It will be a wait but in the end it will be a reward. Good luck to you, and just set your sights on a date and stay with it. There is still time left to return. And we will welcome you home with open arms.

Yep, the older I get the more I miss the PNW, mostly the views of the Moutains, the fresh air.
I've lived in GA for too long and have developed horrible allergies, I've also become heat intollerant and miss the temperate climates...tonight it's suppose to get down to the mid 50's I'm jumping up and down and everyone else is pullin' out the longjohns

Its going to be 98 today in Phoenix, which is exciting. Havent had very many days under 100 since late may. I seriously miss the fern ground cover, the tall fir trees.
I am planning on returning to either Oregon, or Washington in June if I can find good employment. I actually just took a position that has offices in the Pac NW for that specific purpose.

Longing for home...
I am a displaced Western Washington-er who longs to get back to my "homeland." Unfortunately it looks like it is hard to find work in Western Washington right now especially as a videographer/graphic designer.

The grass always seems greener somewhere else. I have lived in Seattle for 23 years now, and do not get me wrong I love it here. It is pretty and the weather is ok. I spent 4 years in florida going to college, Go Bulls, and I miss the sun and the beaches. My wife and I were in Chicago this summer for 2 weeks and we were like" let's move to Chicago" which we are still seriously thinking about. But the more I think about it is there a place where you can really be happy, or will you always wonder about somewhere else?

You must have been on the side of the mountains that is not socked in by clouds (as in today)
I'm west side, and been wearing my long johns for 2 weeks, it was 56 INSIDE the house then, now it is up to 63. I don't light the woodstove till November, so when it gets to 39F tomorrow night I might need 2 pair of Long-johns.
I can see the mountains at the moment, (about 1/2 mile away) but its been raining and cloudy most of the day, so they weren't visible when some folks came to look at the house. Darn, I wish they could have seen the mountains, and the river... maybe they would buy it so I can go get dried out.
Even after being here 26 yrs I will not miss it (the west side) for moment, but my spouse is pretty ripped up about giving up the view, beach, civilization... (on the 100 clear days you can enjoy it). (I'm the one that prefers a tumbleweed for a Christmas tree )

We lived in Washington State (Seattle and Camas near Portland) for 9 years and we don't miss it at all. Thank goodness my husband and I are in agreement about this because it would be really challenging if one of us missed it and the other one did not.

I've been fortunate enough to have lived in several different states and foreign countries and there were things that I liked and enjoyed about all of those places...however I always missed the Pacific Northwest, sometimes desperately so.
While I will continue to travel and explore as much as the world as I can...for as long as I'm able to, I know I will never again live anywhere outside of Washington, Oregon, Idaho or Montana.
