Default moving to Stanwood

My family & I are in the process of buying a house in North Stanwood. We are relocating from Hawaii & really don't know much about the area. I grew up in Seattle, so I do know a few things about the Pacific NW. I would love to hear what anyone has to say about the Stanwood area. We have a daughter in elementary school, so I am particularly concerned about the schools. The house is in the Conway school district. Does anyone have any experience with Conway school in Mt. Vernon? What about Cedarhome elementary in Stanwood? Thanks!

Default good schools

I have a friend that lives in Stanwood and loves the school system for her 4 kids, she raves about it I don't know about the other but just thought I would put my two cents in!

A couple of my coworkers live in Stanwood. Nice, quiet town if that's what you're after. Not much there though. I think Target wanted to open a store there but they voted against it. About 20min from I-5.

Default Thanks for responding!

Thank you for your responses! I appreciate any feedback I can get. We were looking for a house with acreage for horses, etc. that still had somewhat easy access to Seattle and ended up in Stanwood. Hopefully, we will like it!

Default same situation

Guess we are kind of in the same situation as you. Husband got job in Edmonds, but we want to live in somewhat of a quiet place for the kids. Just wondering about commuting times during rush hours !!
