Tacoma projects.
Hello! I believe I've mentioned in previous posts that my husband is a licensed general contractor for the state of California. Moving to Washington, he will have to start at the bottom and work his way back up. Not a problem, to get our children out of this mess and out to Washington is worth that and so much more! Because Seattle seems as far as any work he has to go for out here (yet there is NO traffic at all), I was wondering if anyone can think of any commercial building projects currently being built in Tacoma. With his knowledge, his friendly demeanor, hard working and his height (6 foot 7) he will make a wonderful addition to a construction company. We have called a few union jobs, but most are too slow. I thought maybe I could find one that has work right now. I've tried online searches, but I'm still pretty clueless about the area out there.
Thank you all!!

Hello again!
Does anyone know if there are any hospitals/hospital additions, schools/school additions, shopping centers, prisons/jails, banks, etc. going up in Tacoma??
Thanks in advance!

There was an article in today's paper about the renovation of a city block in downtown Bremerton, not far from Tacoma where the old JC Penney store is going to be made into many stores, a big bookstore restaurants, and apartments.

There is a new medical center going in on 17th and MLK in downtown Tacoma called the Olympus Medical Center. There is a mixed-use building on 23rd and MLK that should break ground in spring 09. There is also an office/retail building and apartment building that should be breaking ground this spring on 11th and MLK. There are a few hisoric rehabs about to start downtown. Tacoma General is expanding and I think they still have a few more years until complete.
I would get in contact with
Rushforth Cunstruction : Rushforth Construction - Tacoma, Seattle
Sellen: Sellen Construction
Absher: Absher Construction Company
Korsmo Construction: John Korsmo Construction

That's good they're going to improve the Ruston area. It seems run down, but with so much potential. A nice charming little area in an excellent area.

You might be best off finding work in Gig Harbor. The growth there surpasses most of Tacoma.
