Can anyone please tell me about the area? I've been doing research online and at the library, and it sounds like it's a peaceful, quiet and scenic area. I'm also hoping the people in the Bow/Mount Vernon are nice/friendly!? (I've been living in the Washington DC area for the past 17 years, orginially from a small town in southern WI).

It's one thing to read info about a place, but BETTER to hear from people who live there or have lived there!

So, if you are one of them, PLEASE tell me all about it, the positives and the negatives. Some things I'd especially like to know -- good restaurants (not too expensive); locations of gym, healthclub, YMCA or county REC Center; nearby parks and fun places to take my 4 year old son; good/safe areas for me to walk/run and bike.

Also, if you've been to (or are from) LYNDEN, WA -- please tell me if it would be worth the drive from Bow for a weekend visit? From what I've read, it sounds like a really unique and special place!

THANKS (in advance) for your answers.
God bless!

THANKS very much for the links on Lynden, allforcats !

Btw, I love cats too -- have 3 rescued cats, from the county shelter & no-kill shelters -- a gentle giant MaineCoon/Siamese mix that I named "Hurly Burly Dude" (Hurly for short!) and a gorgeous polydactyl Tortie "Eirann" (Irish Gaelic sp for Erin) and a part-Himalayan/part-something else kitten "Cillian" (pronounced "silly-ann"). I've had cats for 40+ years, since I was 8 or 9 yrs old.
How many/what kind of cats do you have? Do you live in Washington state?

Default Bow area

Be sure you check the elevation of any property in the BOW area as most of it is at or just above flood plain. It is a great area except for that.
