Default BELLINGHAM WASHINGTON? and Western Washington University?

Thinking about going to Western Washington University as my second choice and its in Bellingham. Im curious about what its like over there.

Bellingham is much closer to Vancouver, Canada than Seattle so does it feel very influenced by British Columbia (more than America)? Does it really have a big music scene? Death Cab for Cutie did make music there or something like that. If so, it must have a good kind of vibe or something? Does it have alot of activity within it? Is it safe? Is it "artsy"? Does it feel urban with a rural feel?

It seems like a happening place but not a place too known yet like Boulder, Colorado, which is a good thing for it.

What is WWUniversity like?
