Default what area of wenatchee should we avoid living in?

Moving to Wenatchee by Xmas 2008. Wanted to know which areas/streets we should avoid living in and around? Like which areas are the "bad" side of town as far as petty crime to property, car theft etc.

Also where are there good apartments or duplexes to rent? I've heard East Wenatchee isn't a good area is that true? Is North Wenatchee the better area to live in? Just trying to find out before we rent something and regret it. Thank you.

Also does anyone know what temp agency in Wenatchee places people at the county courthouse or city jobs in Ephrata or Wenatchee? I know sometimes those jobs are contract workers that are actually employed thru a employment temp agency.

Call the gal at the Wenatchee visitor's bureau, she is a longtime resident and full of info.

East and south is not the nicest, but probably decent spots in each. The NW section (sunnyslope) is pretty nice, last summer we stayed in a private home next to an elementary school, on a public bus route. (corner of School St. and Easy St )

Not sure what you mean by east?? East Wenatchee??

Anyway, try this link. You can specify Wenatchee, East Wenatchee, etc. and the map will print out all the police calls.

The Wenatchee World Online

You need to include lots of months data to really get a sense of which areas are crime prone. The crime rate is not that high compared to urban areas...but way to high if you come from a rural area.
