I have a job interview in Olympia next week and have been researching the area. We have been looking at Olympia, Lacey and Tumwater. Any information on those areas would be very helpful. We have also looked at Yelm and Shelton but think they might be a little far out. I would like to stay within 30 minute drive to Olympia for work and would like to stay around 200,000-250,000 for housing. Thanks for the help.

Centralia is an ez commute, and recent layoffs in mine has created values in Homes. Or you can go as far soutn as Napavine Exit 71 and be well within 30 min of Oly.
Centralia has a Jr College, that can be handy for classes / activities, + recreation. There are lots of rural spots down that way. (further from 'The sound' closer to Rainier, St helens and decent trip to Portland (sales tax free), (1.5 hrs) or WA or OR coast. |
