Hope everyone is staying safe in this new year in Washington State. I see that there are a lot of closures there, hope everyone is getting by ok and stay dry. We're in the middle of a state-wide cold snap here, would rather take the rain anyday!

Hey Warpt! Yeah, two weeks of surprise snow and cold, road closures, pass closures, highway closures, avalanches, roofs collapsing, now hillsides sliding down, rivers wildly overflowing their banks all over the place. Ain't climate and geology fascinating?! I hope you're having as much fun up there as we are!!

I haven't rode my bike in a week! I haven't walked to work either, way too cold for me. The cold never used to bother me, now I just hate it! I think I need a road trip down to Washington to thaw out!

Oh my. I can hardly believe what I am reading. I live in Northern Indiana and believe me, it is REALLY cold here. Sub zero, ice storms .... What I feel sorry about is the mudslides you folks are having recently. The cold you are having makes me think of the Spring thaw that I know is eventually coming here. I know, it is all relative. I do feel for you all.
I hope to be moving out there in the near future.

Happy Friday !

Happy Friday to you too. Yes, climates are relative. But when the skies are dumping and the temps get below freezing, that spells ice everywhere in any language! Ain't it fun?

Well, it "warmed" up to minus 12 but the wind hasn't really died down, caught a ride to work. Has a three day weekend, good weekend to do nothing!

It looks as though another storm is heading your way in Washington, hope everyone is prepared for it. Looks like monsoon season is there.

My heart goes out to those who suffered property damage. Some of those pictures on the news, of people returning to wrecked houses, are just awful.

Glad that there was no loss of human life, though.
