Flying roaches?
Hello,
Wondering if there are flying cockroaches in Washington, particularly the Silverdale area. We will be moving there from Florida where it should be their state bird. They are HUGE and fly. They even have a cutesy name for them, "palmetto bugs." Ughh!! I hate those things and my son is allergic to them. Thank you so much.

It is pretty nice to be able to leave cereal in its original box, instead of having to put it in a plastic container to protect it from roaches and ants. Heck, we can even leave dishes on the counter over night!

You won't have to worry about any of those out here. I'm familiar with those, having lived in Savannah and Florida. Not to mention the giant spiders, which would show up every now and then.

I live in Sacramento Ca, and me and my girlfriend had one in our basement last night. It flew towards us, and freaked us out. If anyone has any info about them being in California please email me. poor916@gmail.com

Nope not here. I used to live in Fl and know those bugs. I actually taped up the utility closet once so that the bug would stay in there until my husband got home so he could kill it!!
We live in Olympia. My nieghbor was having their house sprayed. I asked the bug guy what he was spraying for and he said it was some kind of wood boring critter. I said I was just making sure it wasn't roaches. He told me that we don't really have roaches up here anymore, due to the new egg stopping bait they use. he said the only time he sees them is when he gets called into a very nasty apartment complex.
We do get a lot of flies up here. And crane flies. And (depending on where you live) tons and tons of spiders. I know some people don't notice more spiders here than elselwhere, but I have lived in a few houses that are just crazy with spiders.

I lived in NYC, where roaches were almost everywhere.
Then I lived in Tokyo, a subtropical climate, where the roaches were the size of small bats and flew in the dark so I always slept with a light on. Bleccchhh.
I've lived here for a couple of decades. and I've never -- that's never -- seen even one roach anywhere here. Happy happy happy...

Good to hear they are not over there. In my house there is always spiders or ants. The spiders usually look like those halloween rings, so creepy!
