Default North Eastern Washington and Sun?

My husband and I are looking at moving to Washington from Oregon. We are looking for a smaller town. We are going to take a road trip soon and are trying to map out some places to stop and see if we like. I like the look of Wenatchee and it looks to get plenty of sun. I was trying to talk my husband into driving up into North Eastern Washington to look around Newport, Coville, and Kettle Falls area as well. Does anyone know how much sun it gets? We live in the Willamette Valley in Oregon and are very sick of the day after day of dreary weather, days can go by without any sun at all. We don't mind the cold and snow as long as the sun is shining.

Thank you very much for your help!

If you like Northwest Montana and North Idaho then you would like Northeast Washington. These areas are very similar in geography climate and culture. Bring your own job, hint hint ! Stay away if you hate guns, fishing, hunting and a predominately white, good ol boy atmosphere.

The farther North you go the less sun you'll get in the Winter. Places like Western Oregon have it worse because of the clouds but NE Washington is as far from the sun as anywhere in the U.S. outside of Alaska.

We will be bringing our job with us but maybe NE Washington is not a good fit for us, I should probably stick to looking in Central Washington. My husband has troubles with SAD during the winter here in the Willamette Valley, we definitely don't need to move somewhere with LESS sun. Thank you both very much, that was exactly the information I needed!

True, Wa is fairly far North, but there's a difference between hours of daylight, and amount of sun. In the dead of winter the sun may only be up for 7 hours, but in NE Wa it will be sunny quite often, vs merely being up, and covered by clouds elsewhere.

Anywhere East of the Cascades is going to have much more sun in the winter than the Willamette valley
