Default Please give me 5 reasons for loving Tacoma.

Moving from Phoenix area, used to live in Vancouver Wa. I miss the heck out of the Pac NW. Would love 9 months of a break from the sun.

Jake840 is on a distinguished road
1. Funky cool people
2. Art Art Art (Glass art capital of the USA ya know)
3. Downtown. Yeah our retail sucks but it is clean, low crime, low homeless, and cute for the most part. Oh and I love living Downtown. All my friends live Downtown. Fun times.
4. It is on the Puget Sound
5. People are really involved in the city. You can have your voice. City Council, Police, etc will respond to your emails. I think more people "own" their neighborhoods rather than just live there.
6. Big city with little city feel. You run in to people you know all the time all over town.
7. Point Defiance, Wright Park, Ruston Way, etc
8. It is fun (atleast for me) to watch a city grow and change before your eyes.
9. You can get around the city very easily. Pretty much from any point of the city to the next in 15 minutes or less.
10. Good restaurants
11. Affordable. From housing to gas to groceries it is cheaper than some nearby cities.
12. Liberal Dem. voting city. Very tolerable. Very open. but isn't overly liberal to where it puts a burden on your life with crazy new laws (winking at you Seattle

I lived in Tacoma for 10 years on Salmon Beach. If I wasn't living at S.B. I wouldn't have stayed in Tacoma for more than a few days. I was on my way to Seattle and got waylaid by a woman. I ended up staying for ten years but when it was over between her and me, I hightailed outta there as fast as I could. Am happy to be in Montana now and only go back to Tacoma to visit friends at Salmon Beach.

2. Great views and great parks. Great places to walk.
3. Good Italian restaurants
4. Renovated historic theatres
