Mind if I ask why you would leave MOntana? I hear its wonderful. Especially the NW where you say you live.
We are considering both that area of Montana and the Colville area right now for a summer home.

Dizzy,
The reason we are considering this is that I travel on business every week. In the summer, it's a pleasant 2 hour drive through the forest over Thompson Pass down along the Couer D'Alene river to Spokane and the airport. In the winter, the pass is closed and I have to drive via St Regis and 90 or Sandpoint via Hwy 200. Both roads are icy, the trip is 175 miles at 50 mph in 4 wheel drive. I did it last year and there were several times I almost spun out or saw others near me spin out. The two hours pleasant drive is a white knukle 4+ hour drive, which means I have to leave the house at 1 AM - 2 AM to make my 6:45 AM flight.
This is not pleasant.
Thus the thought was get closer to Spokane Airport and avoid mountain passes.
However, in the time that has passed since my first post on the topic we have decided to stay in Western Montana becuase it is so beautiful and just close up the house from December - March and stay in Seattle.

Glad you figured it out! Where in Montana are you?
We are looking at land in the Eureka and Kila areas. Also some in Marion and Trego. Is just a summer home we are looking for to beat the heat of Phoenix.
Still want to check out Colville area so we have something to compare.

Thompson Falls. You might want to check out Thompson Falls. MT and Plains, MT for a summer place. The Clark Fork River snakes through that area and there any many awesome places, great people (not too many of them :-)
Nice place. Also Trout Creek, MT is nice as well.

Great to hear, those are actually on our list of places to visit! I think the only downside is those are further from big Cities? My wife on occasion will need to commute to work in larger cities where they have Car dealerships.

There's a Ford dealer in Plains and there is a huge Dodge Chevy dealer in Wallace. But you'll have to see for your self if it works for you.
