Default Ma and Pa Kettle lake Ozette area

I was wondering if any one can give me information about the Kettle family Iknow the the stories took place in the ozette area and the Indians in the stories were the Neah Bay Indians I also know that the kettle family didnt appreciate how they were portrayed in the movies we have driven out to the lake and was told that the kettle home is still there I was wondering if someone could give me more information????

You're wrong. Ma and Pa Kettle were inspired by "The Egg and I" (book) and were in "The Egg and I" movie and subsequent movies. The book was set near Chimacum, in Jefferson County, Wash., about 100 miles from Ozette. The movie implied the setting was the Ozarks or some place like that. Google "The Egg and I" for more info. There was a lawsuit after the movie came out by a farm couple who alleged that the author of "The Egg and I" modeled Ma and Pa Kettle on them. They lost. Google for more information on that, too.

No, the Kettles had absolutely zip to do with Lake Ozette. If you are looking for an old homestead or similar though, there is one that fills the bill just past the ranger station. Having lived at Lake Ozette for one winter, I can vouch that there are many interesting spots like this there.

But as far as I know, Hollywood has never utilized the area. Their loss.
