Trader Joe's in Olympia
Good news for Trader Joe's lovers. They're finally going to open a store in Olympia. The new location will be the old "Good Guys" store on Black Lake Blvd. and the time frame will be this summer. I can't wait, as I currently make monthly trips to the University Place Trader Joe's. It's hard to live without their Greek yogurt and chocolate covered bananas.

This is great news for Olympia. That UP Trader Joes does some good business. It covers the Olympia area and even people from Kitsap county make weekly runs there. Whenever I go there I usually overhear someone shopping there from Bremerton, Olympia, etc. One woman comes all the way from Port Townsend.

Having a TJ store "down south" will save a lot of current commuting shoppers driving time and gas money. It will also do good things for the Olympia economy, as it fills an empty store front and employs people. Shoppers will come to Olympia from Lewis, Mason and Greys Harbor counties and will likely visit other nearby stores, like Barnes and Noble, World Market etc.

We've been without easy access to Trader Joe's for years, but recently decided we're going to make a TJ trek next week. University Place is evidently the closest TJs to us and it sounds like a busy one, so we'll plan on a weekday run rather than weekend. Sandy, their greek yogurt is a favorite of mine too. I'm hoping when we get there, we'll remember our other favorites, but I'm sure there are some new "gotta try" products. Suggestions anyone?

Refrigerated canned Chesapeake Bay crab, nova lox, Israeli Feta cheese, full flavored but low fat Celtic Cheddar, macadamia nuts, nitrate free bacon and hot dogs, dark chocolate with orange, Mediterranean yogurt cheese ( in addition to the Greek Yogurt), frozen bison burgers, frozen wild Alaskan salmon.
I'm addicted to Trader Joes.

Thanks Ira! We're going to TJs today, and will add several of your suggestions to our list--I'd forgotten about their nitrite free bacon & hot dogs. The low fat Celtic Cheddar and Mediterranean yogurt cheese sound interesting, and we haven't tried them yet.
