Default Fife

Does anyone have any experience/comment on the D R Horton housing in Fife? The houses look great, but I have found very negative comments about D R Horton on the East Coast.

I don't know anything about D.R. Horton, but Fife itself doesn't have a very good reputation.

What kind of rep does Fife have? I am not really familiar with that area. I have lived in Federal Way for the past 10 years. I work in Tacoma and I am trying to find an "affordable" area to live that is not too far away. Any suggestions?

One of the ladies in my carpool used to live in Fife. Hated it. There may be exceptions of course, but she said Fife seemed like nothing but concrete and asphalt --- strip malls, car lots, and freeway. A lot of Tacoma's crime problems bleed off into Fife.

I don't blame you for wanting to leave Federal Way. That's where I'm at now, and I hate it.

If I were wanting to stay in the area, I'd probably check places like Gig Harbor, Enumclaw, Black Diamond, etc., but that's going to put you farther away from Tacoma. Still, once the Narrows Bridge is done, Gig Harbor might not be such a bad drive. However, once the bridge is done, I fear that a lot of Tacoma's problems are going to migrate into Gig Harbor.

Thank you for your advice. I have been thinking seriously about Gig Harbor. I think the commute just may be worth the better area.

Don't forget about the three dollar toll every time you cross. That was a big factor for me. I dealt with that in San Francisco when I lived there and did not like it. I was lucky not to have to commute over a toll bridge everyday. I would of hated that.

I don't have a problem with Fife. It's a small town life not as crazy as tacoma.
