Zillah is not really part of the Tri-Cities - It's a nice place to visit, sort of touristy, it could work for you if you are more into rural/outdoor activities as opposed to typical urban/suburban things.

If you must live in the lower Yakima Valley, then Zillah is the place to do that.

My mother grew up in the area and until recently I visited family there regularly. I can't say that I enjoyed Zillah to be honest, but I always used to like Toppenish nearby (I didn't have to live there though, and it has picked up a reputation for gang violence). My last reason for visiting the area disappeared when El Ranchito went down the tubes which was probably the best Mexican restaurant in the state.

The main city in the area is Yakima which has become a complete pit over the years. Quite a few migrant workers due to the agricultural focus of the economy. Great fruit in the summer.

I don't believe Zillah is known for its schools, but it always seemed to be a safe enough place.

It would neither be my first or my last choice in the Valley. Last: Mabton or Sunnyside. First: Prosser.

GameHog9 will become famous soon enough
I beg to differ, el Porton is currently the best Mexican restaurant in the state. Too bad its in Yakima and Im in Pasco.

*SIGH* There is like 4 "Porton's" in Yakima/Zilla/Union Gap, how many do you freakin need in such a small town?!?!

They should expand to Spokane ( ), and uh, maybe hopefully here-to-yours-truly Pasco

Oh well, Cinco de Mayos pretty good too
