So where's the best fireworks on the Peninsula ?
We're going to be camping and exploring the area around Olympic National
Park for a week in July. I'm guessing that Port Townsend would be the place
to celebrate the 4th but I wonder if Port Angeles or maybe Sequim would
be better. I really like to make these summer trips memorable for the
kids...which I'm basically still am too.

Port Angeles is having a parade, festival with food and craft booths, live music and fireworks. The parade starts at 6pm and fireworks around 9:30pm. Most of the action is around City Pier next to Hollywood Beach and the Red Lion.

Forks usually has a parade, picnic and fireworks. If you get there the end of the June you can go to the Twilight Symposium.

Not much going on in Sequim because everything is gearing up for the Lavender Festival in two weeks. However, there usually is a community picnic at Carrie Blake Park with music at the band shell.

There is a 4th of July concert at Fort Flagler and one of our favorite local bands, Deadwood Revival is playing. There is also a concert at Fort Worden.

I live in Diamond Point, we are small community between Sequim and Port Townsend, and we have a parade and picnic and then locals shoot off fireworks from the beach, but nothing official.

So your best bet is Forks... it's got that great small town flavor. But the Port Angeles one will be bigger and more crowded.

It's gotta be either in Poulsbo on the beach or at Fort Wardon on the beach or the bluff overlooking the beach. Fort W. is a lovely beach area in Port Townsend.
