I'm living in Portland right now (moving to deer island, or this month) and since the only healthcare experience I have is medical assistant schooling it's been hard to even get an interview. I was a great student and am confident I can do this job or any job in a hospital to get my foot in the door. What I am really hoping to hear is that the job competition is a lot less than it is at the Portland hospitals.
I was just wondering if there was anyone with any info or advice on the need for workers at this hospital or perhaps medical facilities in surrounding areas? Which areas do they need people in specifically? If it's possible to do my externship there I will request an area they need people in.
